Dal Baati with Gheevo A2 Bilona Cow Ghee
There’s nothing more comforting than a plate of hot dal baati drenched in pure ghee.
This Rajasthani classic becomes even more special when finished with Gheevo A2 Bilona Cow Ghee – rich aroma, deep flavour and pure nourishment.
🧈 You’ll Need
For the baati:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 4–5 tbsp Gheevo A2 Bilona Cow Ghee (melted)
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
For the dal:
- ½ cup tuvar (arhar) dal
- ¼ cup moong dal
- ¼ cup chana dal
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 green chillies, slit
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2–3 tbsp Gheevo A2 Bilona Cow Ghee
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander to garnish
How to Make Baati
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt and 4 tbsp Gheevo A2 Bilona Cow Ghee.
- Rub the ghee into the flour until it feels crumbly.
- Add water gradually and knead into a stiff dough.
- Divide into equal lemon-sized balls and shape into smooth baatis.
- Bake in an oven or air fryer at 180°C until golden and crisp, turning occasionally.
- Once done, lightly crush baatis and drizzle with Gheevo while still hot.
How to Make Dal
- Wash and soak all dals for 20–30 minutes.
- Pressure cook with turmeric, salt and enough water until soft.
- In a pan, heat 2–3 tbsp Gheevo A2 Bilona Cow Ghee.
- Add cumin seeds, then onions and sauté till golden.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, tomatoes, chilli powder and cook till mushy.
- Add cooked dal, adjust water and simmer for 5–10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and a final spoon of Gheevo on top.
🍽️ To Serve
Place crushed baatis in a plate, pour hot dal over them and finish with a big spoonful of Gheevo A2 Bilona Cow Ghee.
